حدثني علي بن عيسى، حدثنا إبراهيم بن أبي طالب، حدثنا ابن أبي عُمر: وحدَّثنا سفيانُ، عن جامعٍ، عن أبي وائل قال: قال عبد الله: إذا بُخِسَ الميزانُ حُبِسَ القَطْر، وإذا كَثُرَ الزنى كَثُرَ القتلُ ووقع الطاعون، وإذا كَثُرَ الكذبُ كَثُرَ الهَرْجُ (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that when there is cheating in measure and weight, the rain will be withheld; when fornication becomes widespread, killing will increase and the plague will break out; and when lying becomes abundant, al-harj (chaos and killing) will increase.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(3) إسناده صحيح. ابن أبي عمر: هو محمد بن يحيى بن أبي عمر العَدَني، وسفيان: هو ابن عيينة، وجامع: هو ابن شداد، وأبو وائل: هو سلمة بن شقيق، وعبد الله: هو ابن مسعود.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Identification of narrators: Ibn Abi 'Umar is Muhammad bin Yahya bin Abi 'Umar al-'Adani, Sufyan is Ibn 'Uyaynah, Jami' is Ibn Shaddad, Abu Wa'il is Salamah bin Shaqiq, and 'Abd Allah is 'Abd Allah bin Mas'ud.
وأخرجه نعيم بن حماد في "الفتن" (62)، والخرائطي في "اعتلال القلوب" (174) وفي "مساوئ الأخلاق" (497)، وأبو عمرو الداني في "السنن الواردة في الفتن" (325) من طريق سفيان بن عيينة، بهذا الإسناد. ورواية نعيم عن سفيان مختصرة.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Nu'aym bin Hammad in "al-Fitan" (62), al-Khara'iti in "I'tilal al-Qulub" (174) and "Masawi' al-Akhlaq" (497), and Abu 'Amr al-Dani in "al-Sunan al-Waridah fi al-Fitan" (325) by the route of Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, with this same chain. Nu'aym's narration from Sufyan is abridged.
