Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8727

أخبرني أحمد بن جعفر القَطِيعي، حدثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثني أبي، حدثنا علي بن ثابت، حدثني عبد الحميد بن جعفر (1)، حدثني أبي، عن عِلْباءَ السُّلَمي قال: سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: "لا تقومُ الساعةُ إلَّا على حُثَالةِ الناس" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ilba' al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The Hour will be established only upon the refuse of mankind (that is, the very worst and most base of people)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) تحرَّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: حفص.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts there is a distortion here and the name is written as "Hafs" (which is incorrect).

(2) إسناده صحيح. وهو في "مسند أحمد" 25/ (16071).
Grading: Its chain is sahih. It is found in Musnad Ahmad (25/16071).
والحُثالة من كل شيء: رديئه.
Note / Clarification: "Al-huthalah" of anything is its worthless, useless part.
