إِذَا بَلَغَتْ بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ أَرْبَعِينَ ، اتَّخَذُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ خَوَلًا

حدَّثَناهُ أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالويه، حدثنا موسى بن هارون بن عبد الله الإمام، حدثنا زكريا بن يحيى زَحَمَوَيهِ، حدثنا صالح بن عمر، حدثنا مُطرِّف ابن طَريف، عن عطيَّة، عن أبي سعيد الخُدري قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إذا بَلَغَ بنو العاص ثلاثين رجلًا، اتَّخَذوا دينَ الله دَغَلًا، وعبادَ الله خَوَلًا، ومال الله دُوَلًا" (1). وهكذا رواه الأعمش عن عطيَّة:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Banu al-As reach thirty in number, they will make the religion of Allah a means of deception, the servants of Allah their slaves, and the wealth of Allah something circulated (among themselves)."
