ما حدَّثَناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن علي بن عبد الحميد الصَّنعاني بمكة حَرَسَها الله، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم بن عَبَّاد، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق. وحدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم الحَنظَلي ومحمد بن رافع القُشَيري وسَلَمة بن شبيب المُستَمْلي قالوا: حدثنا عبد الرزاق بن همام الإمامُ الهُمَام (1) قال: حدثني أبي، عن مِيناء مولى عبد الرحمن بن عوف، عن عبد الرحمن بن عوف قال: كان لا يولدُ لأحدٍ مولودٌ إِلَّا أتي به النبي ﷺ فدعا له، فأُدخل عليه مروانُ بن الحَكَم فقال: "هو الوَزَغُ ابن الوَزَغ، الملعونُ ابن الملعون" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdul Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever a child was born (among the Companions), it would be brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate for it. So Marwan bin al-Hakam was brought to him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is a gecko, son of a gecko, the accursed son of the accursed."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) هكذا في (م)، وكأنها في بقية النسخ: المتمام، أو المئمام.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): It is written like this in manuscript (M), and it seems that in the other manuscripts the word is "المتمام" or "المئمام".
(2) إسناده واهٍ، ميناء متروك واتهمه أبو حاتم الرازي بالكذب، وبه أعلّه الذهبي في "تلخيصه".
Grading: Its chain is wahin (extremely weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator "Mina'" is matruk (abandoned), and Abu Hatim al-Razi accused him of lying; al-Dhahabi in his "al-Talkhis" declared it defective for this very reason.
وأخرجه نعيم بن حماد في "الفتن" (317) عن عبد الرزاق، عن أبيه، عن ميناء مرسلًا، لم يذكر فيه عبد الرحمن بن عوف.
Reference / Source: Nu'aym bin Hammad narrated it in "al-Fitan" (317) from 'Abd al-Razzaq, from his father, from Mina', as mursal, without mentioning 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Awf in it.
