قال أبو بكر بن أبي مريم: وحدثني عمّارُ بن أبي عمّار، أنه سمع أبا هريرة يقول: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "هلاك هذه الأُمَّة على يَدَي أُغيلمةٍ من قُريش" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. لهذا الحديث توابعُ وشواهدُ عن رسول الله ﷺ، وصحابته الطاهرين والأئمَّة من التابعين لم يَسعنى إلَّا ذِكرُها، فذكرتُ بعض ما حَضَرني منها. فمنها:
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. لهذا الحديث توابعُ وشواهدُ عن رسول الله ﷺ، وصحابته الطاهرين والأئمَّة من التابعين لم يَسعنى إلَّا ذِكرُها، فذكرتُ بعض ما حَضَرني منها. فمنها:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The destruction of this Ummah will be at the hands of some young lads of Quraysh."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. This hadith has other corroborating chains (mutaba'at) and supporting reports (shawahid) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), his pure Companions and the leading Imams of the Tabi'in, which I consider it necessary to mention; so I have mentioned some of those that I recall at this time.

Grading: The (underlying) hadith is sahih, but this present chain is weak because of the weakness of "Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam"; however, he has been corroborated.
فقد أخرجه نعيم بن حماد في "الفتن" (315) عن عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث، عن حماد بن سلمة، عن عمار بن أبي عمار، به - إلّا أنه وقع عنده موقوفًا على أبي هريرة.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: For Nu'aym bin Hammad narrated it in "al-Fitan" (315) from 'Abd al-Samad bin 'Abd al-Warith, from Hammad bin Salamah, from 'Ammar bin Abi 'Ammar, with this same chain, except that with him it is mawquf on Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
والحديث محفوظ من أوجه عن أبي هريرة مرفوعًا، انظر ما سلف برقم (8565).
Important point: This hadith is "preserved" as marfu' from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) through several other routes. See the earlier narration number (8565).
