أخبرنا أبو بكر أحمد بن سلمان الفقيه ببغداد، حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن شاكر، حدثنا عفَّانُ، حدثنا وُهَيب، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن حَرمَلة. وأخبرنا أبو الحسن أحمد بن محمد بن عَبدُوس العَنَزي - واللفظُ له - حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارِمي، حدثنا أحمد بن صالح المِصري، حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب، أخبرني يحيى بن أيوب، عن عبد الرحمن بن حَرمَلة، عن أبي علي الهَمْداني، سمعتُ عُقْبةَ بن عامر يقول: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "مَن أَمَّ الناسَ فأصاب الوقتَ، فله ولهم، ومن انتَقَصَ من ذلك شيئًا، فعليه ولا عليهم" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح، فقد احتَجَّ مسلمٌ بعبد الرحمن بن حَرمَلة، واحتجَّ البخاريُّ بيحيى بن أيوب، ثم لم يُخرجاه.

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever leads the people in prayer and leads the prayer at the correct time, its reward will be for him and for those following him; and if he falls short in anything (in its time or its pillars), its burden will be upon him and not upon those following him."
This hadith is sahih (authentic); Imam Muslim used Abd al-Rahman bin Harmalah as evidence and Imam Bukhari used Yahya bin Ayyub as evidence, yet they did not record it.
