أخبرنا أحمد بن سلمان الفقيه، حدثنا هلال بن العلاء الرَّقِّي، حدثنا عمرو بن عثمان الكلابي، حدثنا عبيد الله (1) بن عمرو، حدثنا مَعمَر، عن الزُّهري، عن أبي سلمة، عن أبي هريرة، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "تكون فتنةٌ يقتتلون عليها على دعوى جاهليةٍ، قتلاها في النار" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be a trial in which people will fight one another over the slogans of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance); those killed in such fighting will be in the Fire."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) تحرَّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: عبد الله، مكبَّرًا. وعبيد الله بن عمرو هذا: هو الرقِّي.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts the name was corrupted and written as "'Abd Allah" (in the non-diminutive form). This is 'Ubayd Allah bin 'Amr "al-Raqqi".
(2) إسناده ضعيف بمرّةٍ من أجل عمرو بن عثمان الكلابي، ولم نقف على هذا الحديث عند غير المصنف.
Grading: This chain is "very weak" (da'if bi-marrah) on account of "'Amr bin 'Uthman al-Kilabi", and we did not find this hadith with anyone other than the author.
