It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "When you see Sham as the dining spread of a single man and his household (i.e. one family dominating the resources of Sham), then at that time will be the conquest of Constantinople."

Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts the text reads: "idha ra'ayta baydah bi-yad rajul", which is a corruption. The correct text (according to the sources of takhrij) is: "idha ra'ayta al-Sham ma'idata rajul" (when you see al-Sham become the dining spread of one man …).
Grading: Its narrators (rijal) are "thiqah" (trustworthy). Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (29/ 17734) narrated it via the route of Layth bin Sa'd from Mu'awiyah bin Salih with this same chain. (8511). Details of the narration: And at its beginning he added what has already passed with the author at no. (8511).
