It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be a tribulation in which the safest of people (or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: the best of people) will be the army of the West." (The narrator says:) It is for this reason that I came to Egypt.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts it is "Umayr", whereas the correct reading is what we have established ("Umayrah"), which agrees with the sources of the takhrij. It is the same in his biography in "Mizan al-I'tidal" and "Lisan al-Mizan", and al-Dhahabi said in "al-Mizan": It is not known who he is.
Grading: This chain is weak because of the unknown status of Umayrah bin Abd Allah and his father. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Shurayh is "Abd al-Rahman bin Shurayh al-Ma'afiri". Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" 45/ 492 via two routes from Abd Allah bin Wahb, with this same chain. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bukhari in "al-Tarikh al-Kabir" 6/ 314 in mu'allaq form, al-Bazzar (2311), Ya'qub bin Sufyan in "al-Ma'rifah wa al-Tarikh" 1/ 330, Ibn Qani' in "Mu'jam al-Sahabah" 2/ 202, al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (8740), and Ibn Asakir 45/ 492 - 493, via Abd Allah bin Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, from Abu Shurayh, in the same way. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Abu Zur'ah al-Dimashqi in "al-Fawa'id al-Mu'allalah" (122) from Abd Allah bin Salih, from Abu Shurayh, from Umayrah bin Najiyah, from his father, from Amr bin al-Hamiq. Technical note / Defect ('illah): His saying "Umayrah bin Najiyah" in this narration is due to Abd Allah bin Salih's poor memory and his inconsistency in it.
