Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8571

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. When we returned, some people hurried ahead and entered Madinah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked about them and was told that they had hurried to Madinah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon they will leave it when it is in its best condition. If only I knew when that fire will come out from the mountain of al-Warraq by whose light the necks of the Bactrian camels kneeling in Busra will shine as if in the light of day."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (Z), (K) and (B) this name has been corrupted into "an Habib Ammar", and in manuscript (M) into "an Abi Habib Ammar".

Grading: Its chain can possibly be graded hasan because of Habib bin Hammaz; he is a Tabi'i from whom two people narrated, and al-Ijli and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Usamah is "Hammad bin Usamah", Za'idah is "Ibn Qudamah", and Abd Allah bin al-Harith is "al-Zubaydi al-Najrani al-Kufi".
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad 35/ (21290) from Mu'awiyah bin Amr, from Za'idah, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (21289) and Ibn Hibban (6841) via Jarir bin Hazim, from al-A'mash, in the same way.
Details of the narration: And in his narration the wording is: "A fire from Yemen, from the mountain of al-Warraq".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Describing this fire, which will light up the necks of the camels at Busra, as coming from Yemen is an error and confusion on the part of the narrator, as Ibn Kathir stated in "al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah" 19/ 27. The reason is that the fire which will emerge from the depths of Aden (in Yemen) is the one that will drive the people present at the end of time to the place of gathering (as in the hadith of Hudhayfah bin Asid in Muslim (2901) and others). As for the fire by which the necks of the camels will be lit up at Busra, it will emerge from the land of the Hijaz, as in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Bukhari (7118) and Muslim (2902), and it will come later with the author (al-Hakim) under number (8574).
Note / Clarification: For his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying "Yushiku an yada'uha ahsana ma kanat" (soon they will leave it while it is in its best state), see the narration that has passed under number (8516).
