حدثني الأستاذ أبو الوليد، حدثنا الهيثم بن خَلَف الدوري، حدثنا الهيثم بن خارجة، حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش، عن أبي بكر بن عبد الله بن أبي مريم، عن الوليد بن سفيان، عن يزيد بن قُطَيب السَّكُوني، عن أبي بَحْريَّة، عن معاذ بن جبل، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "الملحمة العظمى، وفتح القسطنطينية، وخروج الدجال، في سبعة أشهر" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The great battle (al-Malhamah al-Uzma), the conquest of Constantinople and the emergence of the Dajjal will all take place within a period of seven months."

(2) إسناده ضعيف لضعف أبي بكر بن أبي مريم وجهالة الوليد بن سفيان وهو ابن أبي مريم ابن عم أبي بكر - فإنه لم يرو عنه غير أبي بكر بن أبي مريم، ويزيد بن قطيب روى عنه ثلاثة وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، ولم يؤثر توثيقه عن أحد من الكبار. أبو بحرية: هو عبد الله بن قيس السكوني، من كبار التابعين.
Grading: Its chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is the weakness of "Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam" and the unknown status (jahalah) of "al-Walid bin Sufyan" (who is Ibn Abi Maryam, Abu Bakr's paternal cousin), because no one other than Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam narrated from al-Walid. And (the narrator) Yazid bin Qutayb: three people narrated from him and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat", but no declaration of his trustworthiness is reported from any of the major authorities. "Abu Bahriyyah" is 'Abd Allah bin Qays al-Sakuni, one of the senior Tabi'un.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (4092) عن هشام بن عمار، عن الوليد بن مسلم وإسماعيل بن عياش بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (4092) narrated it from Hisham bin 'Ammar, from al-Walid bin Muslim and Isma'il bin 'Ayyash, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 36/ (22045)، وأبو داود (4295)، والترمذي (2238) من طرق عن أبي بكر بن أبي مريم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (36/ 22045), Abu Dawud (4295) and al-Tirmidhi (2238) narrated it through various routes from Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam, with this same chain.

وفي الباب عن عبد الله بن بسر أحمد 29/ (17691)، وأبي داود (4296)، وابن ماجه (4093)، لكن فيه سبع سنين بدل: سبعة أشهر، وإسناده ضعيف.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is also a narration from 'Abd Allah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him), recorded by Ahmad (29/ 17691), Abu Dawud (4296) and Ibn Majah (4093), but in it are the words "seven years" instead of "seven months", and its chain is weak.
