It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We were standing with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah, how long is the period of prosperity of your Ummah? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent until he had asked three times. Then the man turned to leave, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring that man to me." He was called, and he came back, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "You have asked me about something that no one of my Ummah has asked me about. The period of prosperity of my Ummah is a hundred years; the period of prosperity of my Ummah is a hundred years; the period of prosperity of my Ummah is a hundred years." He said: O Messenger of Allah, is there any sign or mark of that? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes: a rain of stones (al-qadhf), sinking into the earth (al-khasf), earthquakes (al-rajf), and the release of bridled devils among the people."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (Z) and (B) this name has been corrupted and written as "'Abd Allah", while the correction was made from manuscripts (K) and (M).

Grading: Its chain is weak because the narrator "Mu'adh bin Sa'd al-Saksaki" is unknown (majhul). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Yazid bin 'Ata' Abu 'Ata' al-Saksaki is alone in narrating from Mu'adh, and this Yazid is also not a well-known narrator; only two people narrated from him. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in his "al-Thiqat", just as he also mentioned Mu'adh al-Saksaki. Likewise Ibn Hibban mentioned "Yazid bin Sa'id bin Dhi 'Aswan" in al-Thiqat and said: "He sometimes erred." Imam al-Dhahabi, in "Talkhis al-Mustadrak", objected to al-Hakim's authentication and said: "Its chain is dark (very weak)."
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at (37/ 22770) through the route of Isma'il bin 'Ayyash, from Yazid bin Sa'id, with this same chain.
