Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 849

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not prevent your women from coming to the mosques; however, their homes are better for them (than the mosques)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record in it the addition "their homes are better for them".

Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Supporting reports for this sentence, "their houses are better for them", are found in the commentaries on Musnad Ahmad and Sunan Abi Dawud, and in the next two hadiths of the author (al-Hakim).
