Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this has been corrupted into "al-Hasan", although it occurs correctly in many places with the author (al-Hakim). See his biography in "Tahdhib al-Kamal" 6/ 476.
Grading: Its chain is weak because of the weakness of Habbah (who is Ibn Juwayn al-'Urani). (Identification of the narrators): Shayban is Ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Nahwi, Abu Ishaq is 'Amr bin 'Abd Allah al-Sabi'i, and Muhammad bin Isma'il al-Ju'fi is "Imam al-Bukhari", the compiler of the Sahih.
Details of the narration: This report is found in similar wording in al-Bukhari's "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (926) with this same chain, except that there the one narrating from 'Ali is named "Khaythamah" (without a nisbah). Our strong assumption is that this is an "old corruption", because al-Mizzi in "Tahdhib al-Kamal" mentioned Khaythamah bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Ju'fi, listing 'Ali bin Abi Talib among his teachers and Abu Ishaq al-Sabi'i among his students, and marked both with the symbol of al-Bukhari's "al-Adab al-Mufrad", whereas this report is known only through the narration of "Habbah al-'Urani from 'Ali".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Thus Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated it in his "al-Musannaf" 10/ 422 from Talq bin Ghannam, with the same chain, and in it he said "Habbah al-'Urani", giving both his name and his nisbah.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Likewise Muhammad bin al-Layth al-Hadadi narrated it, as found in al-Tabarani's "al-Du'a" (1988), and 'Uthman bin Abi Shaybah, as found in Abu Nu'aym's "al-Tibb al-Nabawi" (329), both from Talq bin Ghannam, with the same chain; both named him "Habbah", and 'Uthman added his nisbah "al-'Urani".
Note / Clarification: And it is surprising that the editors of "Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah" (the Indian edition) and of Abu Nu'aym's "al-Tibb" changed "Habbah" to "Khaythamah", following what occurs in "al-Adab al-Mufrad"!
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: al-Khula'i narrated it in "al-Khula'iyyat" (525) through the route of Muhammad bin Marwan al-A'war, from a man who narrated to him, from 'Ali.
Grading: Its chain is "wahin" (feeble) and consists of a series of unknown (majhul) narrators.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: al-Tabarani narrated in "al-Awsat" (7141) and "al-Du'a" (1987), through another chain that is utterly weak, from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as marfu': "Whoever says al-hamdu lillah before the sneezer (says it) will be protected from pain in the flank (waja' al-khasirah) and will never suffer from toothache."
Details of the narration: There are several hadiths on this topic which al-Suyuti mentioned
Reference / Source: in "al-La'ali' al-Masnu'ah" pp. 241 and 242, but all their chains are "talif" (ruined/very weak).
