It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach them this supplication for all kinds of pain and fever: 'Bismillahil-Kabir, na'udhu billahil-'Azimi min sharri 'irqin na''ar, wa min sharri harrin-nar' (In the name of Allah, the Great; we seek refuge in Allah, the Magnificent, from the evil of a throbbing vein and from the evil of the heat of the Fire).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: That is: he is struck by fever.
Grading: This chain is weak because of the weakness of Ibrahim bin Abi Habibah. As for Isma'il bin Abi Uways, although there is some "lin" (softness) in him, he has been corroborated. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ahmad 4/ (2729), Ibn Majah (3526), and al-Tirmidhi (2075) narrated it through various routes from Ibrahim bin Isma'il bin Abi Habibah, with this same chain. And al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is "gharib"; we know it only from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Isma'il bin Abi Habibah, and Ibrahim is considered weak in hadith. Note / Clarification: "al-'irq al-na''ar": the vein from which blood gushes (spurts).
