It is narrated from Amrah that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I saw in a dream as though three moons fell into my chamber. I related my dream to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Then when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was buried in my house, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is one of your moons, and he is the best of them."
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits

Grading: (2) This report is sahih, as explained under no. (4448), but this chain is "very weak" like the previous chains. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Moreover, Mas'adah bin al-Yasa' contradicted the well-known narration of Malik, since Yahya al-Laythi, narrating from Malik in "al-Muwatta'" (1/232), said: "from Yahya bin Sa'id from A'ishah" as mursal, and did not mention "Amrah" in it. This narration has already passed under no. (4448) via Sufyan bin Uyaynah from Yahya bin Sa'id from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab, who said: A'ishah said.
