حدَّثنا أبو الحسن أحمد بن محمد بن إسماعيل بن مِهْران، حدَّثنا أبي، حدَّثنا عمرٌو بن سَوَّاد السَّرْحيُّ، حدَّثنا عبد الله بن وهب، أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث، أن أبا السَّمح حدثه عن أبي الهيثم، عن أبي سعيد الخُدْري، أن النبي ﷺ قال: "أصدقُ الرُّؤيا بالأسحار" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most truthful dream is the one seen at the time of sahar (before dawn)."
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده ضعيف لضعف رواية أبي السمح - وهو درّاج بن سمعان - عن أبي الهيثم - وهو سليمان بن عمرو العُتواري - وعدَّ ابن عدي في "الكامل" 3/ 115 هذا الحديث من منكرات دراج.
Grading: (2) Its chain is weak (da'if). Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is the weakness of the narration of Abu al-Samh (Darraj bin Sam'an) from Abu al-Haytham (Sulayman bin Amr al-Utwari). Ibn Adi counted this hadith among the munkar narrations of Darraj in "al-Kamil" (3/115).
وأخرجه أحمد 18/ (11650)، وابن حبان (6041) من طرق عن ابن وهب، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (18/11650) and Ibn Hibban (6041) narrated it via various routes from Ibn Wahb with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 17/ (11240)، والترمذي (2274) من طريق ابن لهيعة، عن دراج، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (17/11240) and al-Tirmidhi (2274) narrated it via Ibn Lahi'ah, from Darraj, in the same way.
