Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8382

أخبرنا أبو النضر الفقيه، حدَّثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدَّثنا سعيد بن عُفير وعبد الله بن صالح، قالا: حدَّثنا الليث بن سعد، عن أبي الزُّبير، عن جابر، عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه قال: "إذا رأى أحدُكم الرؤيا يَكْرَهُها، فليَبصُقْ عن يَسَاره وليتحوَّلْ عن جَنْبه الذي كان عليه" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, he should spit towards his left side and turn over from the side on which he was lying."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it!

Grading: (1) Its chain is sahih, like the previous chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 23/ (14780)، ومسلم (2262)، وأبو داود (5022)، وابن ماجه (3908)، والنسائي (7606) و (10681)، وابن حبان (6060) من طرق عن الليث بن سعد، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (23/14780), Muslim (2262), Abu Dawud (5022), Ibn Majah (3908), al-Nasa'i (7606, 10681) and Ibn Hibban (6060) narrated it via various routes from al-Layth bin Sa'd with this same chain.
فاستدراك الحاكم له ذهول منه.
Note / Clarification: So al-Hakim's including it in the Mustadrak is an oversight on his part.
