It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "For them are glad tidings in the life of this world," that he said: Since I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, no one other than you has asked me about it. I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Since this verse was revealed, no one other than you has asked me about it. It refers to the righteous dream which a Muslim sees himself or which is shown for him."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi" and its narrators are trustworthy, but what is preserved (mahfuz) in it is that it is "Ata' bin Yasar from a man from Abu al-Darda'", i.e. with an unnamed intermediary inserted. Al-Daraqutni declared this to be correct in "al-Ilal" (1080). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn Abi Umar is "Muhammad bin Yahya al-Adani", Sufyan is "Ibn Uyaynah" and Abu Salih is "Dhakwan".
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (3106/M) narrated it from Ibn Abi Umar with this same chain and said: "from Ata' bin Yasar from a man of the people of Egypt from Abu al-Darda'". Grading: Al-Tirmidhi said: this hadith is hasan.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (45/27521) likewise narrated it from Sufyan bin Uyaynah, and added "a man of the people of Egypt".
Reference / Source: Ahmad (27510, 27520, 27526, 27556) narrated it via al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, in the same way, with the addition of an unnamed man. Details of the narration: Whereas al-Tirmidhi (3106/M) narrated it via Asim bin Bahdalah, from Abu Salih, from Abu al-Darda', thus dropping two narrators from the chain.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (27521) and al-Tirmidhi (2273, 3106) narrated it via Sufyan bin Uyaynah, from Ibn al-Munkadir, from Ata' bin Yasar, from a man of the people of Egypt, from Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him). Thus he dropped Abu Salih (from the chain).
