Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8378

حدَّثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا علي بن الحسن بن بَيَان المُقرئ، حدَّثنا عبد الله بن رَجَاء، حدَّثنا حَرْب بن شدَّاد، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن أبي سَلَمة قال: نُبِّئتُ عن عُبادة بن الصَّامت قال: سألتُ رسول الله ﷺ عن قوله ﷿: ﴿لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا﴾ [يونس: 64] قال: "هي الرُّؤْيا الصَّالحةُ يَرَاها المؤمنُ أو تُرَى له" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. وشاهدُه حديث أبي الدرداء الذي:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "For them are glad tidings in the life of this world" [Surah Yunus: 64], that he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It refers to the righteous dream which a believer sees himself or which is shown (to someone else) for him."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات إلا أنه منقطع بين أبي سلمة وعبادة كما هو ظاهر الرواية.
Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih and its narrators are trustworthy, but there is a break (inqita') between Abu Salamah and Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him), as is apparent from the narration.
وأخرجه أحمد 37/ (22740) عن أبي سعيد مولى بني هاشم، عن حرب بن شدّاد، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (37/22740) narrated it from Abu Sa'id (the mawla of Banu Hashim), from Harb bin Shaddad, with this same chain.
لكن قال: عن أبي سلمة عن عبادة.
Details of the narration: But in it he said "'an Abi Salamah 'an Ubadah" (i.e. using "'an").
وأخرجه الترمذي (2275) من طريق أبي داود الطيالسي، عن حرب بن شداد وعمران القطان، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (2275) narrated it via Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, from Harb bin Shaddad and Imran al-Qattan, with this same chain.
وفيه: نُبِّئتُ عن عبادة.
Details of the narration: In it the wording is: "nubbi'tu 'an Ubadah" (I was informed from Ubadah).
وقد سلف برقم (3341) من طريق علي بن المبارك عن يحيى بن أبي كثير.
Important point: This narration has already passed under no. (3341) via Ali bin al-Mubarak from Yahya bin Abi Kathir.
