مَنْ حَالَتْ شَفَاعَتُهُ دُونَ حَدٍّ فَقَدْ ضَادَّ اللَّهَ فِي أَمْرِهِ

أخبرنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنْبري، حدَّثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، أخبرنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا حَيَّان بن هلال، حدَّثنا وُهَيب، حدَّثنا سهيل، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "لا يَستُرُ عبدٌ عبدًا في الدنيا إِلَّا سَتَره اللهُ يومَ القيامة" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه. وهذا يُصحِّح حديثَ الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة، وحديثَ محمد بن واسع عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة (2)، وذاك أنَّ أسباط بن محمد القرشي رواه عن الأعمش عن بعض أصحابه عن أبي صالح، ورواه حمادُ بن زيد عن محمد بن واسع عن رجل عن أبي صالح (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a servant covers (the faults of) another servant in this world, Allah Almighty will cover him on the Day of Resurrection."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. And this hadith strengthens the narration of al-A'mash from Abu Salih and the narration of Muhammad bin Wasi', because Asbat bin Muhammad al-Qurashi narrated it from al-A'mash through some of his companions, while Hammad bin Zayd narrated it from Muhammad bin Wasi' through a man, from Abu Salih.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. And this hadith strengthens the narration of al-A'mash from Abu Salih and the narration of Muhammad bin Wasi', because Asbat bin Muhammad al-Qurashi narrated it from al-A'mash through some of his companions, while Hammad bin Zayd narrated it from Muhammad bin Wasi' through a man, from Abu Salih.

وأخرجه أحمد 15/ (9045)، ومسلم (2590) (72) من طريق عفان بن مسلم، عن وهيب، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Imam Ahmad (15/ 9045) and Muslim (2590/ 72) via Affan bin Muslim, from Wuhayb, with this same isnad.
وأخرجه أحمد 15/ (9248) و 16/ (10761)، ومسلم (2590) (71) من طرق عن سهيل بن أبي صالح، به.

Note / Clarification: (2) The text from the words "wa hadith Muhammad bin Wasi'" up to here is missing from manuscripts (Z) and (B); we have established it from manuscripts (K) and (M).
