Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(8297). Grading: Its chain is "da'if" (weak). It has already been discussed at no. (8297). Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (6930) narrated it combined with that hadith from Muhammad bin Bashshar (Bundar), with this same chain. Likewise, Abu Dawud (4516) and al-Nasa'i (6930) narrated it in combined form from Muhammad bin al-Muthanna, from Mu'adh bin Hisham. Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (6912) narrated it in the same way through the route of Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, from Hisham al-Dastuwa'i. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Bazzar in his "Musnad" (10/405) indicated that, among all the students of Qatadah, only (Hisham) al-Dastuwa'i is alone in the additional words about "castration" (al-ikhsa'). Reference / Source: Ahmad (33/20198) narrated it from Yazid bin Harun, from a shaykh of his, Abu Umayyah, who said: Al-Hasan told us from Samurah: "Whoever castrates his slave, we will castrate him." Technical note / Defect ('illah): This shaykh "Abu Umayyah" is unknown (majhul); we could not identify him. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is a narration from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in Ibn Abi Hatim's "al-'Ilal" (1381), but its chain is weak. Abu Hatim said: "It is a munkar hadith."
