حدَّثَناه أبو بكر أحمد بن سلمان الفقيه ببغداد، حدثنا هلال بن العلاء الرَّقي، حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر الرَّقّي، حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمرو، عن زيد بن أبي أُنيسة، عن عدي بن ثابت، عن يزيد بن البراء، عن أبيه قال: لقيتُ عمّي ومعه الراية، فقلتُ: أين تريدُ؟ قال: بَعَثَني النبي ﷺ إلى رجل نكحَ امرأةَ أبيه، فأمرني أن أضربَ عُنقَه وآخذَ مالَه (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him): I met my paternal uncle, who had (a special) banner with him. I asked: Where are you heading? He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has sent me to a man who has married his father's wife; he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to strike off his head and take possession of his wealth.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن، هلال بن العلاء ويزيد بن البراء صدوقان حسنا الحديث، وهلال قد توبع. وقد تقدم الكلام عليه مفصلًا عند الرواية (2811).
Grading: A sahih hadith.
Grading of the chain: This chain is "hasan"; Hilal bin al-Ala' and Yazid bin al-Bara' are both "saduq" (truthful) and hasan in hadith, and Hilal has been corroborated. It has been discussed in detail under narration (2811).
وأخرجه النسائي (5465) عن عمرو بن منصور، عن عبد الله بن جعفر الرقي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (5465) narrated it from Amr bin Mansur, from Abd Allah bin Ja'far al-Raqqi, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أبو داود (4457) عن عمرو بن قسيط الرقي، عن عبيد الله بن عمرو الرقي، به.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (4457) narrated it from Amr bin Qusayt al-Raqqi, from Ubayd Allah bin Amr al-Raqqi, with this same chain.
