It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whomever you find committing the act of the people of Lut, kill both the one who does it and the one to whom it is done; and whomever you find committing (bestiality) with an animal, kill him and kill the animal too."
This hadith has an authentic chain (sahih al-isnad), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(8245). Grading: As "marfu'" it is weak, and the correct view is that it is "mawquf", as explained under the previous narration (no. 8245). Reference / Source: Al-Tabari narrated it in the Musnad of Ibn Abbas in "Tahdhib al-Athar" (1/554) from Mujahid bin Musa, from Yazid bin Harun, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Its second part was narrated by Ahmad (4/2420) via Sulayman bin Bilal, and by Abu Dawud (4464), al-Tirmidhi (1455) and al-Nasa'i (7300) via Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad al-Darawardi; both of them from Amr bin Abi Amr, with this same chain. Addition: Al-Darawardi added in his narration that Ibn Abbas was asked: "What about the animal?" He said: "I did not hear anything from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about that, but I think the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked that its meat be eaten or that it be made use of when that act has been done with it." Statements of the imams: Abu Dawud said after it: "This is not strong." Al-Tirmidhi said: "We know this hadith only as the hadith of Amr bin Abi Amr, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Al-Bukhari said ("Ilal al-Tirmidhi" p. 236): "I do not hold by the hadith of Amr bin Abi Amr that whoever has intercourse with an animal is to be killed." Supporting reports: On the topic of killing one who has intercourse with an animal, there is a narration from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Abu Ya'la (5987), and from him Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" (1/32); its chain is weak: it contains Abd al-Ghaffar bin Abd Allah bin al-Zubayr, whom no one other than Ibn Hibban declared reliable. Abu Ya'la said after it: "Then it reached me that he retracted it."
