أخبرَناه محمد بن الحسن النَّصْراباذي، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد الحِنَّائي، حدثنا عبيد الله بن معاذ، أبي، حدثنا شُعْبة، عن تَوْبَةَ العَنْبري، قال: سمعتُ أبا السَّوّار عبد الله بن قُدامة بن عَنَزةَ القاضي يُحدِّث عن أبي بَرْزة الأسلمي قال: أغلَظَ رجلٌ لأبي بكر الصديق فقلتُ: يا خليفةَ رسول الله، ألا أقتلُه؟ فقال: ليسَ هذا إَّلا لمن شَتَمَ النبيَّ ﷺ (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man spoke harshly to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). I said: O Successor of the Messenger! Shall I not kill him? He said: This (authority) is for no one except in the case of someone who insults the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

(1) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات غير عبد الله بن قدامة، فقد تفرَّد بالرواية عنه توبة العنبري، ولم يرو هو عن غير أبي برزة نضلة بن عبيد، ولم نقف لعبد الله بن قدامة على حديث غير هذا، ومع ذلك وثّقه النسائي فيما نقله عنه المزّي.
Grading: A sahih report.
Technical note: The narrators of this chain are thiqah except "Abd Allah bin Qudamah", since only Tawbah al-Anbari narrates from him, and he himself narrated from no one other than Abu Barzah Nadlah bin Ubayd. We have not found any hadith of Abd Allah bin Qudamah other than this one; nevertheless al-Nasa'i declared him reliable, as al-Mizzi quoted from him.
وأخرجه النسائي (3520) عن عمرو بن علي، عن معاذ بن معاذ العنبري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (3520) narrated it from Amr bin Ali, from Mu'adh bin Mu'adh al-Anbari, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 1/ (54) عن محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (1/54) narrated it from Muhammad bin Ja'far, from Shu'bah, with this same chain.
