It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My mother has died, and two months of fasts were due from her. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fast on her behalf." She said: Hajj was also due from her. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on her behalf." She said: I had given her a slave woman in charity. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has rewarded you, and inheritance has returned that slave woman to you."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
