مَنْ لَمْ يَتْرُكْ وَارِثًا إِلَّا عَبْدًا أَعْتَقَهُ فَالْمِيرَاثُ لَهُ
Whoever leaves no heir except a slave he freed, the inheritance goes to him

فأخبرَناه أبو عبد الله الصَّفَّار، حدثنا محمد بن مَسلَمة، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا حمّاد بن سَلَمة (1). وأمّا حديث ابن عُيَينة:

According to the narration of Hammad bin Salamah, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that in the blessed time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a man died and left no heir or close relative except the slave he had freed, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the inheritance to that slave.

(1) إسناده ضعيف كما سبق، ومحمد بن مسلمة فيه مقال، لكنه متابع.
Grading: Its chain is weak, as has passed; and there is "criticism" (maqal) of Muhammad bin Maslamah, but he is "corroborated" (mutaba').
وأخرجه أبو داود (2905) عن موسى بن إسماعيل، عن حماد بن سلمة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (2905) narrated it from Musa bin Isma'il, from Hammad bin Salamah, with this same chain.
