أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب وأبو يحيى أحمد بن محمد السَّمَرقندي قالا: حدثنا محمد بن نصر الإمام، حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، أخبرنا عبد العزيز بن محمد، عن جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه: أَنَّ أُمّ كُلْثُومٍ بنتَ علي تُوفِّيَت هي وابنُها زيدُ (1) بن عمر بن الخطّاب في يوم، فلم يُدرَ أيُّهما مات قبلُ، فلم تَرِثْه ولم يَرِثْها، وأنَّ أهلَ صِفِّين لم يتوارثوا، وأنَّ أهلَ الحَرَّة لم يتوارثوا (2). هذا الحديث إسنادُه صحيح. وفيه فوائدُ، منها: أنَّ أم كلثوم وَلَدَت لعمر ابنًا، فأما الفائدة الأخرى، فله شاهد: [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] ترقيم العلميه 8009 - صحيح
Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that Sayyidah Umm Kulthum bint Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) and her son Zayd bin Umar bin al-Khattab died on the same day, and it could not be known which of them died first; so she did not inherit from him, nor did he inherit from her. Likewise, the martyrs of the Battle of Siffin and of the Event of al-Harrah did not inherit from one another.
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic). It contains points of benefit, one of which is that Sayyidah Umm Kulthum (may Allah be pleased with her) bore Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) a son; and for the other point of benefit there is a supporting narration:

(2) إسناده قوي. Grading: Its chain is "strong" (qawi). وأخرجه سعيد بن منصور في "سننه" (240)، والدارمي (3089)، والدارقطني (4101)، والبيهقي 6/ 222 من طرق عن عبد العزيز بن محمد الدراوردي، بهذا الإسناد.
