Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 804

Sayyiduna Rifa'ah bin Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in the mosque, and we were with him, when a man who looked like a Bedouin came and prayed (and then the same lengthy incident took place).

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, although there is "lin" (softness, i.e. slight weakness) in this chain because the condition of Ali bin Yahya bin Khallad is somewhat unknown (jahalah), but he has been corroborated.
Reference / Source: It is in 'Jami' al-Tirmidhi' (302) via Ali bin Hujr alone, and he (al-Tirmidhi) called it "hasan", but it does not contain the words "from his father".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Mizzi stated this explicitly in 'Tuhfat al-Ashraf' (3604), and it is the same in al-Baghawi's 'Sharh al-Sunnah' (553) via al-Mahbubi from al-Tirmidhi.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (1643) also narrated it from Ali bin Hujr alone, and with him it matches the author's (al-Hakim's) narration.
