إِذَا شَقَّ إِيفَاءُ النَّذْرِ عَلَى رَجُلٍ فَلْيُكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

قال شَريك: وحدثنا محمد بن عبد الرحمن مولى آل طلحة، عن كُرَيب، عن ابن عباس: أنَّ رجلًا جاء إلى النبيِّ ﷺ فقال: إنَّ أختي جعلَت عليها المشيَ إلى بيتِ الله، قال: "إنَّ الله تعالى لا يصنعُ بشَقاءِ (1) أختِك شيئًا، قُلْ لها: فلتحُجَّ راكبةً، ولتُكفِّر يمينَها" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My sister has vowed to walk to the House of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty gains nothing from putting your sister to hardship. Tell her to perform Hajj riding and to give the expiation for her oath."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this word is written "li-shaqa'", while what we have adopted follows the other source works that record it.
(2) إسناده ضعيف شريك - وهو ابن عبد الله النخعي - في حفظه سوء.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason for this is the weak memory (su' al-hifz) of Sharik bin 'Abd Allah al-Nakha'i.
وأخرجه أحمد 5 / (2828) و (2885)، وأبو داود (3295)، وابن حبان (4384) من طرق عن شريك النخعي، بهذا الإسناد. وانظر ما سلف برقم (8023).
