It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Allah protected me through something I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): when news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the king of Yemen (Dhu Yazan) had died and the people had made a woman their ruler, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A people whose rule is in the hands of a woman will never succeed."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: Manuscript (Z) has the word "tamallakathum" (she became their queen) here.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The mention of "the king Dhu Yazan" in the text is an error, because the one who died was Chosroes, the king of Persia, as correctly narrated at hadith nos. (4658) and (8812), and al-Bukhari also narrated it by that same route. Al-Hakim's including it as an addition (istidrak) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part.
