It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the (blessed) head of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the lap of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) when a bearer of good news came and informed him of the victory of his cavalry detachment. He (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and fell into prostration before Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked that messenger for details about the enemy, and he told him that a woman was leading them. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The men were ruined when they obeyed women (accepted their leadership)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this was distorted and written as "Bakkar", while in al-Dhahabi's "al-Talkhis" it is recorded correctly.
(1038). Grading: Its chain is weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Bakkar bin Abd al-Aziz is "layyin al-hadith" (weak) and he is alone with this wording, although the basis of the hadith is established as sahih in the context of the following narration. Important point: This hadith passed earlier in brief at no. (1038) with the story of the prostration of thanks. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (24/ 20455) narrated it with this same chain, and al-Bazzar in his Musnad (3685) by the route of Abu al-Minhal al-Bakrawi. Details of the narration: When Chosroes died, he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Whom have they appointed ruler after him?" It was said: His daughter Buran. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A people who entrust their affairs (government) to a woman will never prosper." Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu al-Minhal al-Bakrawi's name is Abd al-Rahman bin Mu'awiyah; we could not find his biography (tarjamah), though this narration of his from his own family members may be acceptable.
