It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qays bin Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that his father had presented him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to serve him. He narrates: I was praying two rak'ahs when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me, gestured to me with his (blessed) foot and said: "Shall I not tell you about one of the doors (the key to one of the doors) of Paradise?" I said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(Say:) 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no power and no strength except with Allah)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. Imam al-Hakim says that this establishes that it is permissible for a father to present his child for service (of the elders); it also shows the virtue of Qays bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), that he served the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so much that he became like his right hand (sahib al-shurat), and then he also stood by the Commander of the Faithful, Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), in every circumstance, until he was martyred before him at the Battle of Siffin.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts this name is recorded in this (incorrect) way, and we have not found any narrator with this name. The indications suggest that he is "Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Amrawayh", well known as Ibn Alam al-Saffar, who narrates from Muhammad bin Ishaq al-Saghani. The author (al-Hakim) has narrated from him in several places.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts the word has been distorted here and mistakenly written as "al-San'ani".
Grading: Its chain is weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Maymun bin Abi Shabib's hearing from Qays bin Sa'd is not established, and he frequently practised "irsal" (omitting the intermediate narrator). Amr bin Ali al-Fallas says that he never said "I heard" in any of his hadith, and no one has claimed that he heard from the Companions. Ibn Ma'in declared him weak, while Abu Hatim called him "salih al-hadith" and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat". Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (24/ 15480), al-Tirmidhi (3581) and al-Nasa'i (10115) narrated it by the route of Wahb bin Jarir with this same chain. Imam al-Tirmidhi declared it "sahih gharib" from this route. (2704). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is a narration from Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) in Musnad Ahmad (35/ 21996) and al-Nasa'i (10117), but its chain is also weak. Details of the narration: There is disagreement over its wording: some narrated it like the hadith of Ubadah, and others with the words "a treasure from the treasures of Paradise". This latter wording is established in sahih and reliable hadiths, such as the hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) in Sahih al-Bukhari (4205) and Sahih Muslim (2704). (820). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration is reported from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) in Musnad Ahmad (35/ 21298), Ibn Majah (3825), al-Nasa'i (9758) and Ibn Hibban (820). (10118). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Musnad Ahmad (14/ 7966) and al-Nasa'i (10118).
