ما حدَّثَناه أبو العباس السَّيَّاري، حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن حاتم الباشاني، حدثنا علي بن الحسن بن شَقيق، حدثنا الحسين بن واقد، حدثني عبد الله بن بُرَيدة قال: سمعتُ أَبي بريدة (1) يقول: كنتُ في المسجد وأبو موسى الأشعري يقرأُ، فخرجَ رسولُ الله ﷺ فقال: "مَن هذا؟ " فقلتُ: أنا بُرَيدةُ، جُعِلتُ لك الفِداءَ يا نبيَّ الله، قال: "لقد أُعطِيَ هذا من مَزاميرِ آلِ داود" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه بهذه السَّياقة. ومن ذلك:

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was in the mosque and Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) was reciting. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and asked: "Who is this?" I said: O Prophet of Allah! I am Buraydah, may I be sacrificed for you. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This man has been given a share of the melodious voices (mazamir) of the family of Dawud."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this wording.

(1) تحرّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: بردة.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted into "Bardah" (whereas the correct name is Buraydah).
(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن.
Grading: This hadith is sahih and its chain is "hasan".
وأخرجه أحمد 38/ (22952) و (22969) و (23033)، ومسلم (793) (235)، والترمذي (3475)، والنسائي (8004)، وابن حبان (892) من طريق مالك بن مغول، عن عبد الله بن بريدة بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad 38/ (22952, 22969, 23033), Muslim (793) (235), al-Tirmidhi (3475), al-Nasa'i (8004) and Ibn Hibban (892) narrated it in the same way through the chain of Malik bin Mighwal from 'Abdullah bin Buraydah.
