أخبرنا أبو بكر بن قُريش، حدثنا الحسن بن سفيان، حدثنا أبو الربيع الزَّهراني، حدثنا أبو قُتَيبة سَلْم بن قُتيبة، حدثنا حَمَل بن بَشير بن أبي حَدْرَد، حدثني، عمِّي، عن أبي حَدْرَد، أن النبيَّ ﷺ قال: مَن يَسُوقُ إبلنا هذه؟ " فقام رجلٌ فقال: أنا، فقال: "ما اسمُك؟ " قال: فلان قال: "اجلِسْ"، ثم قام آخرُ فقال: أنا، فقال: "ما اسمُك؟ " قال: فلان، قال: "اجلِسْ"، ثم قام آخرُ فقال: أنا، فقال: "ما اسمُك؟ " قال: ناجيَةُ، قال: "أنت لها فسُقْها" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Abu Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will drive these camels of ours?" A man stood up and said: I will. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He told him his name. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sit down." Then a second man stood up and said: I will. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He told him his name. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sit down." Then another man stood up and said: I will. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He said: Najiyah (one who is saved). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are suited to this task; drive them."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده ضعيف لجهالة حَمَل بن بشير ولإبهام عمه.
Grading: This chain is da'if (weak) because Hamal bin Bashir is majhul (unknown) and his paternal uncle is unnamed.
وأخرجه البخاري في "الأدب المفرد" (812)، وابن أبي عاصم في الآحاد والمثاني" (2370)، والروياني في مسنده (1479)، والطبراني في "الكبير" 22/ (886) من طريق محمد بن المثنى، عن سلم بن قتيبة بهذا الإسناد. وقرن ابن أبي عاصم بمحمد بن المثنى عقبةَ بن مكرم. ووقع في بعض هذه المصادر تحريفات.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari narrated it in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (812), Ibn Abi 'Asim in "al-Ahad wa al-Mathani" (2370), al-Ruyani in his "Musnad" (1479), and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (22/ 886), through the chain of Muhammad bin al-Muthanna from Salm bin Qutaybah. Ibn Abi 'Asim also mentioned 'Uqbah bin Mukram alongside Muhammad bin al-Muthanna. Some corruptions have occurred in some of these sources.
