أخبرنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن شاذانَ الجَوهري، حَدَّثَنَا المُعلَّى بن منصور، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيم، أخبرنا منصور بن زاذان، عن ابن سِيرِين، عن ابن العلاء [بن] (4) الحَضْرمي، عن أبيه: أنه كتبَ إلى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَبَدَأَ بنفسِه (5).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه.

Ibn al-Ala' bin al-Hadrami narrates from his father that he wrote a letter to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and (at the beginning of the letter) wrote his own name first.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Note / Clarification: This text had dropped out of the manuscripts, and we have established and entered it with the help of Imam al-Dhahabi's book "al-Talkhis".
(5) إسناده ضعيف كما سبق بيانه برقم (6824).
Grading: Its chain is weak, as has been explained in detail earlier under hadith no. (6824).
