It is narrated from Harith al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty commanded Yahya bin Zakariyya (peace be upon him) with five things, that he act upon them himself and command the Children of Israel to act upon them as well. One of them is: Allah commands you to pray, so when you pray, keep your faces straight and do not look about, for Allah Almighty sets His Face towards the face of His servant when he prays to Him, and He does not turn His Face away from him until the servant himself turns away."
Imam al-Hakim says: The two Shaykhs used all the narrators of this hadith as evidence, but they did not record it; this hadith is sahih (authentic) and well-preserved (mahfuz) according to the conditions of the imams.
