أخبرني عبد الله بن الحسين القاضي، حدثنا الحارث بن أبي أسامة، حدثنا رَوْح بن عُبَادة، حدثنا زكريا بن إسحاق، حدثنا عمرو بن دينار، عن عطاء، عن ابن عباس في قول الله ﷿: ﴿الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ﴾ [النجم: 32] قال: هو الرجل يُصِيبُ الفاحشةُ يُلِمُّ بها، ثم يتوبُ منها (1). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this statement of Allah Almighty: "Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, except al-lamam (minor faults)" [Surah al-Najm: 32], that he said: Al-lamam refers to the person who becomes involved in some sin or immoral deed and then repents from it.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.
