Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Zuhr prayer, and when he gave the salam he called out to a man who was in the last of the rows and said: "O so-and-so, will you not fear Allah? Will you not look at how you pray? When one of you stands to pray, he stands in intimate conversation with his Lord, so let him look at how he converses with Him. You think that I do not see you; by Allah, I see behind my back just as I see in front of me."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it in this wording.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is "sahih", though this chain of it is "hasan" because of the presence of Muhammad bin Ishaq. Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it in (15/9796) through the chain Yazid bin Harun from Muhammad bin Ishaq, but he made it a narration of Sa'id bin Abi Sa'id from Abu Hurayrah, and it does not mention the "munajat" (intimate conversation). Reference / Source: A narration with similar meaning was transmitted by Muslim (423) and al-Nasa'i (947) through the chain al-Walid bin Kathir from Sa'id from his father. (551). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: A supporting report for his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, "Indeed, when one of you stands to pray, he is in intimate conversation with his Lord," is the hadith of Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) found in al-Bukhari (405) and Muslim (551).
(424). Reference / Source: The two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) transmitted through the chain al-A'raj from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you think my qiblah is only in this direction? By Allah, neither your humility nor your bowing is hidden from me; I certainly see you from behind my back." (al-Bukhari: 418, 741, and Muslim: 424).
