حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الربيع بن سليمان، حدثنا بشر بن بكر، حدثنا الأوزاعي، حدثني حسَّان بن عطيّة، حدثني أبو كَبْشة السَّلُولي، قال: سمعتُ عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص يقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أربعونَ خَصلةً أعلاهنَّ مِنْحةُ العَنْز، لا يعملُ عبدٌ بخَصْلةٍ منها رجاءَ ثوابها، وتصديقَ موعودِه، إلَّا أدخله اللهُ بها الجنَّةَ" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are forty traits, the highest of which is giving someone a she-goat to drink its milk. No servant acts upon any one of them, hoping for its reward and affirming the truth of Allah's promise, except that Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise because of it."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, and they (the two Shaykhs) did not record it.

(3) إسناده صحيح. بشر بن بكر: هو التنيسي، والأوزاعي: هو عبد الرحمن بن عمرو. وأخرجه أحمد 11/ (6488) و (6831) و (6853)، والبخاري (2631)، وأبو داود (683)، وابن حبان (5095) من طرق عن الأوزاعي، بهذا الإسناد. وعند البخاري وأبي داود زيادة: قال حسان: فعددنا ما دون مَنيحة العنز من ردِّ السلام، وتشميت العاطس، وإماطة الأذى عن الطريق، ونحوه، فما استطعنا أن نبلغ خمس عشرة خصلة.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Bishr bin Bakr is al-Tinnisi, and al-Awza'i is 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Amr.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad 11/ (6488), (6831) and (6853), al-Bukhari (2631), Abu Dawud (683) and Ibn Hibban (5095) narrated it by various routes from Imam al-Awza'i, with this same chain.
Important point: In the narration of al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud there is this addition: Hassan said: "We counted the good deeds lesser than the gift of a milch goat (maniha), such as returning the greeting, responding to one who sneezes, removing something harmful from the road and the like, but we could not reach even fifteen deeds."
واستدراك الحاكم له ذهولٌ منه.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam al-Hakim's inclusion of it (in al-Mustadrak) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part, because it already exists in the Sahih collections.
