حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الحَكَم، أخبرنا ابن وهب، أخبرني عبد الرحمن بن سلمان، عن (1) عُقَيل، عن ابن قُسَيط، عن سعيد بن المسيّب، عن بعض أزواجِ النبيِّ ﷺ قالت: لأَن أُضحِّيَ بجَذَعٍ من الضَّأْن، أحبُّ إليَّ من أن أضحِّيَ بمُسِنَّة من المَعْز (2). رواه محمد بن إسحاق القرشي عن يزيد بن عبد الله بن قُسيط، وسمَّى الصحابيةَ أمَّ سَلَمة:
Sa'id bin al-Musayyab narrates from one of the pure wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that she said: To sacrifice a jadh'ah (six-month-old lamb) of sheep is dearer to me than to sacrifice a musinnah (two-year-old animal) of goats. Muhammad bin Ishaq named this female Companion in this narration as Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her).

(1) تحرَّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: بن.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts, the word "'an" (from) here has been corrupted (a scribal error) into "bin" (son of).
(2) خبر صحيح، عبد الرحمن بن سلمان -وهو الحَجْري المصري- وإن كان ليِّنًا توبع. ابن قسيط: هو يزيد بن عبد الله بن قسيط.
Grading: This report is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Although Abd al-Rahman bin Salman (al-Hajri al-Misri) had some weakness (layyin) in his memory, he has been corroborated (mutaba'ah). Ibn Qusayt is Yazid bin Abd Allah bin Qusayt.
وأخرجه البيهقي 9/ 271 من طريق الوليد بن كثير المخزومي، عن يزيد بن عبد الله بن قسيط، بهذا الإسناد. وسنده صحيح.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it (9/271) via al-Walid bin Kathir al-Makhzumi from Yazid bin Abd Allah bin Qusayt, with this same chain.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
