(1). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a caravan of ten riders. He (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge of allegiance from nine of them and held back from one man. They said: "What is the matter with this man that you do not take his pledge?!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is an amulet tied on his upper arm." Then the man cut off the amulet, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took his pledge and then said: "Whoever hangs (an amulet) has committed shirk."

Grading: It is a "qawi" (strong) hadith. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Although Muhammad bin Musa al-Harashi has some weakness, he is corroborated, and the rest of the narrators are acceptable. Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad (28/ 17422) via Abd al-Aziz bin Muslim, and this chain is "qawi" on account of Yazid bin Abi Mansur. (7691). Reference / Source: See the earlier no. (7691). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is the narration of a man from the tribe of Suda' in Ibn Wahb and al-Tahawi, whose chain is "hasan" for the purpose of supporting reports.
