It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that she was affected by the touch of Satan (epilepsy or madness). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, I will supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and He will cure you; and if you wish, (be patient with this illness,) and then there will be no reckoning and no punishment for you." The woman said: "O Messenger of Allah, then I will (be patient)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits

Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (Z) and (B) this name is corrupted into "Hisn", and in manuscripts (S) and (M) into "Husayn".
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this word is wrongly written as "mu'allim".
Grading: This narration is "sahih li-ghayrihi", and the chain is at the level of "hasan" on account of Muhammad bin Amr (Ibn Alqamah al-Laythi). Important point: Ibrahim bin Nasr is Ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Razi, and Abd al-Aziz bin Muslim is al-Qasmali al-Basri. Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad (15/ 9689) and Ibn Hibban (2909) via Muhammad bin Ubayd, and Ibn Hibban also paired Abdah bin Sulayman with him (both from Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqamah, with this chain). (2576). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Ibn Abbas in the two Sahihs (al-Bukhari 5652, Muslim 2576) supports it.
