It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make it your practice to use ithmid (antimony kohl), for it makes the hair grow and sharpens the eyesight."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi", but this chain is da'if because of the weakness of Uthman bin Abd al-Malik. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Qilabah refers to "Abd al-Malik bin Muhammad al-Raqashi" and Abu Asim refers to "al-Dahhak bin Makhlad al-Nabil". Reference / Source: Ibn Majah recorded it (3495) by way of Abu Salamah Yahya bin Khalaf, from Abu Asim al-Nabil, with this same chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: A supporting report (shahid) for it is the hadith of Ibn Abbas that passed earlier at number (7565), and it is a "strong" hadith. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Jabir is in Ibn Majah (3496), whose chain is "hasan" as a supporting report and corroboration.
