Book of Leading the Prayer and Congregational Prayer
كَانَ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ وَهَمْزِهِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ "
When he (peace and blessings be upon him) began the prayer he would say: O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the accursed Satan, from his madness, his pride and his poetry

أخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن دُحَيم الشَّيباني (1)، حدثنا أحمد بن حازم بن أبي غَرَزة، حدثنا علي بن حَكِيم، أخبرنا المعتمِر بن سليمان، عن مثنَّى بن الصَّبّاح، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عباس: أنَّ النبي ﷺ كان إذا جاءه جبريل فقرأَ ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾ عَلِمَ أنها سورةٌ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful", he (peace and blessings be upon him) would understand that this was a (new) surah.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) وقع هنا في المطبوع تقديم وتأخير في مجموعة كبيرة من الأحاديث ممّا جعل في ترتيب الأحاديث اضطرابًا شديدًا.
Note / Clarification: In the printed edition, at this point, a large group of hadiths has been placed out of order (some brought forward and others moved back), which has caused severe confusion in the ordering of the hadiths.
(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف، المثنى بن الصباح متفق على ضعفه، وقد توبع كما في الحديثين التاليين، لكن اختُلف في وصله وإرساله كما هو مبيَّن في التعليق على "سنن أبي داود" (788) حيث رواه من طرق عن سفيان بن عيينة، عن عمرو بن دينار، به موصولًا ومرسلًا.
Grading: The hadith in its basis is sahih, but this particular chain is weak because al-Muthanna bin al-Sabbah is weak by agreement.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: However, he is corroborated in the next two hadiths.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement over whether it is mawsul (connected) or mursal, as mentioned in the annotation on "Sunan Abi Dawud" (788), where it is narrated by various routes from Sufyan bin Uyaynah, from Amr bin Dinar, in both forms, connected and mursal.
