أخبرنا أبو الطيِّب محمد بن علي بن الحسن (1) الحِيريّ، حدّثنا محمد بن عبد الوهاب بن حَبيب، حدّثنا يعلى بن عُبيد، حدّثنا فِطر بن خَليفة، قال: كنتُ جالسًا عند زيد بن علي بالمدينة، فمرَّ عليه شيخٌ يقال له: شُرَحبيل أبو سعد، فقال له زيد: من أين جئتَ يا أبا سعد؟ قال: من عند أميرِ المدينة، حدّثتُه بحديث، قال: فحدِّثْ به القومَ، قال: سمعتُ ابن عباس يقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ما مِن مسلمٍ تُدرِكُ له ابنتانِ فيُحسِنُ إليهما ما صَحِبَتاه أو صَحِبَهما، إِلَّا أَدخَلَتاه الجنَّةَ" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim whose two daughters reach maturity, and he treats them well for as long as they remain with him or he remains with them, they will surely cause him to enter Paradise."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) تحرّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: الحسين، وجاء على الصواب في "إتحاف المهرة" (7722).
Note / Clarification: (1) In the manuscripts this name has been distorted into "al-Husayn", while the correct name appears in "Ithaf al-Maharah" (7722).
(2) صحيح بما قبله، وهذا إسناد ضعيف من أجل شرحبيل أبي سعد: وهو ابن سعد الخطمي.
Grading: (2) This narration is sahih on account of what precedes it, but this chain is da'if (weak) because of Shurahbil Abu Sa'd (Ibn Sa'd al-Khatmi).
وأخرجه أحمد 4/ (2104)، وابن ماجه (3670)، وابن حبان (2945) من طرق عن فطر بن خليفة، بهذا الإسناد. واقتصروا فيه على المرفوع دون القصة.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (4/ 2104), Ibn Majah (3670) and Ibn Hibban (2945) recorded it via various routes from Fitr bin Khalifah, with this chain, and they limited themselves to the marfu' part without mentioning the story.
وأخرجه أحمد (5/ 3424) من طريق عكرمة، عن شرحبيل، به.
