It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah does not look at a woman who is not grateful to her husband, while she is not independent of her husband."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), provided that (the narrator) al-Abbas preserved it (accurately).

Explanation & Benefits

(2806). Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan on account of al-'Abbas bin Yazid al-Bahrani. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Just as there was disagreement over Qatadah, there is also disagreement over Shu'bah as to whether it is marfu' or mawquf; see what passed at number (2806). Reference / Source: Abu Ishaq al-Muzakki narrated it in "al-Muzakkiyat" (129) via Ibn Khuzaymah, from al-'Abbas bin Yazid al-Bahrani, with this chain. Reference / Source: Ibn Abi al-Dunya narrated it in "al-Nafaqah 'ala al-'Iyal" (533), al-Bazzar in his "Musnad" (2348), al-'Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" 1/ 588 without a chain (ta'liqan), and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (14185), via Abd Allah bin al-Mubarak, from Shu'bah, with this chain. Reference / Source: Abu Sa'id al-Shashi narrated it in his "Hadith" (53) from Ibn al-Mubarak, from Sa'id, from Qatadah. Note / Clarification: He put Sa'id in place of Shu'bah (in the chain); this is how it occurs in his book!
