Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) Its chain is consecutively made up of weak narrators (musalsal bil-du'afa').
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ahmad bin 'Isa al-Lakhmi, 'Amr bin Abi Salamah (who is al-Tinnisi) and Sadaqah bin 'Abdullah (who is al-Dimashqi) are all da'if (weak). And about Ibrahim bin Muhammad al-Ansari, al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in "Ithaf al-Maharah" 15/ 15 that he is majhul (unknown).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): We did not find any hadith scholar who narrated it via this route, nor did al-Daraqutni point to it in "al-'Ilal" (1595), where he said: It is narrated by Safwan bin Sulaym, and there is disagreement (in narrating) from him; Muhammad bin Sa'id (the son of al-A'mash's daughter) narrated it from Safwan bin Sulaym, from Sa'id bin Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah, and Ibrahim bin Abi Yahya corroborated him by narrating it from Safwan.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): And Ibrahim bin Tahman contradicted the two of them, narrating it from Safwan bin Sulaym, from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurayrah, as marfu'; and this (text) is known from the narration of Musa bin Wardan from Abu Hurayrah, i.e. the previous hadith.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Waddah in "al-Bida'" (126), al-Khara'iti in "Makarim al-Akhlaq" (784) and (936) and "Masawi' al-Akhlaq" (700), Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" 3/ 165, Ibn Bishran in "al-Amali" (167), al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (8992) and Ibn 'Asakir in "Dhamm Qurana' al-Su'" page 47, via the route of Ibrahim bin Muhammad (who is Ibn Abi Yahya al-Aslami), from Safwan bin Sulaym, from Sa'id bin Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn al-Muqri' in "al-Mu'jam" (802) and Ibn 'Asakir in "al-Mu'jam" (1594) via the route of Muhammad bin Sa'id (the son of al-A'mash's daughter), from Safwan bin Sulaym, from Sa'id bin Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (Note that) Ibrahim bin Abi Yahya al-Aslami is accused (of lying), and we did not find any biography for Muhammad bin Sa'id.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It has a shahid (supporting report) of no worth (i.e. unreliable) from the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), found with Ibn 'Asakir in "Dhamm Qurana' al-Su'" page 46-47; after it he said: It is gharib.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): We say: its chain contains al-Hakam bin 'Abdullah bin Sa'id al-Ayli, who is accused of lying.
