Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 742

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she used to give the adhan and iqamah, lead women in prayer, and (when leading women) stand in the middle of the row.

Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: God willing, this report is sahih, although this particular chain is weak due to the weakness of Ahmad bin Abd al-Jabbar and Layth (Ibn Abi Sulaym); but both of them have been corroborated, and this narration has been reported from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) by several other routes, so it is authentically established from her.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi recorded it in 1/408 and 3/131 through Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Shaybah 1/223 recorded it from Abd Allah bin Idris, but without the account of (her) leading (women) in prayer.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Shaybah likewise recorded it in another place, 1/223, through Ibn Ulayyah and Mu'tamir, from Layth, from Ata' and Tawus, from A'ishah.
Reference / Source: Without the account of leading the prayer, it was also recorded by Abd al-Razzaq (5015) and (5016) by way of Ibn Jurayj and Layth, and by Ibn al-Mundhir in "al-Awsat" (1214) by way of Layth; both of them transmit it from Tawus, from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Details of the narration: The account of leading women in prayer was recorded by Ibn Abi Shaybah in 2/89 with the chain Ibn Abi Layla from Ata' from A'ishah.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Abd al-Razzaq (5086) and al-Bayhaqi 3/131 recorded it by way of Ra'itah al-Hanafiyyah, and Abd al-Razzaq (5087) by way of Yahya bin Sa'id al-Ansari; both of them from A'ishah.
