It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drinks wine in this world will be deprived of it in the Hereafter."
This is a sahih (authentic) and gharib (singular) hadith through the narration of Shu'bah, and the two Shaykhs agreed, on this topic, on the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Umar and Ibn Jurayj narrated from Nafi'.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: It is a "sahih hadith". Technical note / Defect ('illah): This chain is "qawi" (strong) because of Abu Qilabah ('Abd al-Malik bin Muhammad al-Raqashi), and he has been corroborated. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad recorded it 10/ (6046) from Hashim bin al-Qasim, from Shu'bah, with this chain. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad recorded it 8/ (4916) by way of Ma'mar; and Imam Ahmad 10/ (5730), Muslim (2003) (73), Abu Dawud (3679), al-Tirmidhi (1861), al-Nasa'i (5163, 5164) and Ibn Hibban (5366) recorded it by way of Hammad bin Zayd; both of them (Ma'mar and Hammad) narrate it from Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narration of 'Ubaydullah bin 'Umar from Nafi' was recorded by Muslim alone (2003) (78), not by al-Bukhari; see the rest of its takhrij in "Musnad Ahmad" 8/ (4729). Note / Clarification: As for the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, he narrates it from Nafi' through "Musa bin 'Uqbah", and Muslim likewise recorded it alone (2003) (78); it is also in "Musnad Ahmad" 8/ (4823). 8/ (4690). Important point: This is an oversight (dhuhul) on the part of the author (may Allah have mercy on him); the correct position is that al-Bukhari (5575) and Muslim (2003) (76, 77) both agreed on it from the hadith of "Malik from Nafi'". See the rest of its takhrij in "Musnad Ahmad" 8/ (4690). (7402). Reference / Source: This narration has already passed within the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) under number (7402).
